Safe and Secure Book
Every family supporting a person with a disability is concerned about the future; “what will happen when we can no longer support our son and daughter?”
Presented with our Families to Families Focus nights, the Safe and Secure Book Club is a workshop that goes through the “7 Steps on the Path to a Good Life” for families with loved ones with disabilities.
We would like all those who are interested in this workshop to be able to attend. If you find the workshop cost-prohibitive, please get in touch with us at info@planokanagan.ca or 250-860-2080, as there are scholarships available.
An experienced facilitator conducts the sessions, including valuable worksheets, refreshments, and snacks.
Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP)
We are planning a series of Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) workshops that begin in the fall through to the spring of the following year. These workshops are sponsored by Employment and Social Development Canada. We plan to present in Penticton, Vernon, and Kelowna. We are willing to come to your community within the Okanagan region to present. Please get in touch with us if you would like us to present to your organization.
Denise Martell, a financial advisor with World Financial Group, presents RDSP workshops.
Facing the Future Together
This workshop is about bringing families and caregivers together to discuss and develop a cohesive succession plan of care for loved ones with disabilities. At the end of the workshop, families are presented with a clarity of purpose and responsibility on the next steps in implementing their succession plan. We would encourage all family members or close important people to attend. Families who may not have a successor in mind are welcome to invite someone to support them as they go through the planning process.
An experienced facilitator conducts this full-day workshop, including planning resources, handouts, and a Plan Institute publication.
Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning
This workshop is about ensuring that your assets are transferred to trusted family and friends to ensure your loved ones are properly cared for in the event of your passing. It will help minimize the costs associated with taxes and probate fees and create a plan in which your wishes are upheld with respect to financial support for your loved ones.
An experienced financial advisor conducts this full-day workshop, including planning resources and valuable handouts.
